All the tanks had sponge filters in them powered by a Jehmco linear piston air pump.  All the larger tanks (20 gallons or larger) also had Aquaclear power filters on them.  I highly recommend the air pump as it has plenty of power and is uses very little energy.

These are the custom made hooks that I used for the removable front panels for the aquariums in the wall.  They worked well.

Here are the grow taquariums and the backs of the aquariums from the hallway.  Each aquarium had their own individual heater.  Most had aquaclear powerfilters and sponge filters in them.

These were the grow out aquariums. Mainly 40 and 50 breeders. The aquariums contained lots of african cichlid juveniles.

The ever important utility sink.  I performed weekly 50% water changes on all the fish tanks in the fish room.

This fish room contained 25+ cichlid tanks.  There were 5 aquariums built into a wall in my basement.  Those aquariums were two 125 gallon and three 75 gallons aquariums.  The room focused on breeding Malawian cichlids and bristlenose plecos.  The fish room was in operation from March of 2005 to May 2009. At one point is time there was over 1500 African cichlids in the fish room. I decided to tear it out since I wanted to focus more on saltwater aquariums.

Background Information

Here are the freshwater aquariums in the fish wall in the basement hallway.  The wood boards above the tanks are removable so you can work on them from the front.  My breeding groups of African cichlids were housed in these tanks.  There were 3-6 breeding groups of African cichlids in each tank.
